Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) on Friday 23rd September, 2016 handed over assorted building materials to Khombe Primary School in the area of T/A Chadza.

The materials worth almost K8 Million are for the roofing of two school blocks which the communities have been failing to find resources to complete and also for the construction of a Head Teacher's Office.

The materials included iron sheets, roofing planks, bags of cement, windows and window frames, doors and door frames and other building accessories.

LWB Chairperson for the Board of Directors Mr Francis Mbilizi handed over the materials on behalf of the Board.

In his speech, during a colorful ceremony that was spiced by displays from pupils of the school and traditional dances, Mbilizi said that the assistance was part of the Board’s corporate social responsibility as one way of helping the communities that the Board works with.

Mbilizi also said that the assistance was motivated by the desire by the Board to assist government in its efforts to improve the standard of education in the country.
